Totally Mortified (Anyone can join!) [10 Sep 2005|07:30pm]

Rantoul tapped the lock that held the princess in her cage once with his wand. It sprang open with an impressive sound, and the door slowly moved to reveal the beautiful girl, the one he had been searching for. It was odd, though, how her face was obscured by the shadows.

"I've come to rescue you!" He crowed, moving toward her. "It took a while, I know, but finally I'm..."

The princess suddenly shouted his name.

"I'm right here," Rantoul said, surprised. "You don't have to yell, though perhaps later..." He raised his eyebrows suggestively.

"Rantoul Holdsclaw!"

"Yes, darling, what is it?" Rantoul was now a bit put off. Really, was all this necessary?

"RANTOUL HOLDSCLAW!" She shouted again, even louder, and then again and again...

"Rantoul Holdsclaw!"

He sat up quickly, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. "Bezoar, it's a bezoar!" he said, thinking of the first thing that could come to his mind that involved potions.

Annoyed, the teacher sighed loudly. "Ten points from Gryffindor, Holdsclaw. Try to be a little more attentive next time."

Wishing, not for the first time, that he could vanish into the floor, Rantoul sat up, ignoring the giggles around him, and tried to pay attention for the rest of the class.

[08 Jun 2005|12:55am]

Genna ascended a flight of stairs, finally leading her out of the dungeon, and walked quickly toward the Great Hall. By the time she reached it, she was a bit out of breath, and settled at the Slytherin table, the pile of books floating behind her following and then dropping onto the table as she sat down, with a loud thud.

The girl didn't bother to look up and down the table to seek out anyone in particular that she knew, and instead crossed her legs, opening one of the books with a decidedly purposeful look on her face, and began flipping through pages. The books, bound in red, appeared to be historical records of some kind, but they were written in Latin, followed by a complete translation in the second half of the book of which she had immediately flipped to.

She seemed engrossed in her work, and uncrossed her legs so she could lean forward. Genna was quite satisfied with all of the information, but knew this would be a rather time consuming project.  She'd finished all of her homework for at least a week, spoken with a few of the professors, and was exhausted. She looked paler than usual, almost sickly, but had a brilliant flare in her eyes. Certain kinds of determination were dangerous, especially in a Slytherin.

Open to any guys! [07 Jun 2005|09:20pm]

Alicia walked down the hall with a smile on her face. 'Guys are always good, especially ones that aren't Ralph,' she thought, thinking of the boy from Beauxbatons who...'No, you can't think about that right now.' While deep in thought, she wasn't paying attention to where she was walking and bumped into something. Looking up, she realized it was a person. Not just any person, a guy, and a rather nice looking one at that! She smiled shyly, waiting for him to say something.

Alicia's Enterance (Open to any and all Gryffindors or anyone who happens to want to talk!) [05 Jun 2005|10:45pm]

Alicia walked into the Great Hall with her head held high. She knew that it would be hard to make new friends, but, on the other hand, people tend to flock towards what is knew and unknown. She didn't think she would have too much trouble finding someone to talk to.
Earlier that day she had arrived from Beauxbatons. All she wanted to do was forget about what had happened there. Coming to Hogwarts was her escape. She had a private sorting, and was now a Gryffindor student. Walking over to the Gryffindor table for dinner, she sat in an empty spot in the middle of the table, amongst friendly faces and chattering classmates

Private Owl to Adrianne Curidrino [04 Jun 2005|10:46am]

I know that you probably think this is a letter about me trying to solicit sex again (even though I wasn't trying to before and I'm not trying to now) but I'm just writing to apologize for my behavior in the library today. I'm not quite sure what I did but I really am sorry it upset you.

Don't be afraid to come back to the library, I'll leave you alone next time if you want me to.

Adrianne was tired. She had used her clinique concealer that morning, but to no avail. With the end of the school year so near, she had been cramming her brain with missed studying for hours at a time, often staying up late nights in bed, or the common room, racking her brain for answers to questions she only wish she knew. She sighed, she got up from the comment room and went to the librairy, got down several intresting-looking books from the shelves, and sat down in a comfterable chair fore a good read.

As hard as she tried, she couldn't focous. The words blurred up on the page, and Adrianne had to yank her hair back to keep herself from falling asleep. She was looking out the window, when all of a sudden she heard a voice.

Happy for a distraction, Adrianne turned around to reply.

Open RP ((Besides being restricted to Slytherins, considering the setting)) [01 Jun 2005|03:37pm]

Genna sat in the Slytherin common room, a book closed in her lap as she sat on the sofa, facing the long-since extinguished fireplace. She placed the tip of her quill lightly on the paper, making a small ink dot, and leaving it there. She couldn't find the words to write, and felt stifled, since she was used to the common room being noisy and filled with fellow Slytherins. Today they all seemed to be out, and the common room was unnaturally silent and undisturbed.

Maybe that was something to be greatful for, she thought, smiling ruefully, and averting her attention her own cat-making its way down the steps of the girls' dormitory. She patted the spot on the sofa next to her, catching the feline's attention, and watched it hop up on the sofa to greet her. Genna scratched the skinny creature's ear, and looked at the entrance to the common room wistfully, or maybe even expectantly, as if waiting for someone (anyone) to enter.

Open RP *crosses fingers* [12 Dec 2004|02:45pm]

[ mood | awake ]

Jamie woke up early on that Sunday morning, but she didn't know why. She figured it would be okay to get an early start on the day, so she crept quietly past the closed bedcurtains of the other girls in her dorm. She felt the heavy silence resting over the common room as she entered, and felt it would be wrong to disturb it. Alas, she made her way out of the common room and down the long twisting staircase that led to Ravenclaw tower. Her footsteps sent up clouds of dust on the worn stairs that swirled and spun in the shafts of early morning sunlight coming in through the small windows cut into the stone. She walked through the school and into the Great Hall, musing at how quiet the school could really be when everyone was still asleep. Jamie expected to be the only one in the Hall at such a time and wondered whether or not breakfast would even be served yet, but sure enough as she opened the heavy wooden doors, she saw the abundant food and a very familiar face.

Open RPG [26 Oct 2004|06:51pm]

[ mood | impatient ]

The castle had been quiet for the past couple of days. Jamie thought it could be attributed to the increase of homework as they got further into the year. She felt bad for her older and younger counterparts, and was glad that she did not have to struggle through the NEWTs or OWLs this year. She could not spare much time to pity, though, becasue she had almost as much work herself. She had been halfway through her Herbology homework when she realized that she had a one-foot esay due the next day in Potions and she had yet to start it.

She grabbed her books and started on ehr way to the library. She felt she had been there a lot more often lately. She did not mind going down tonight though. The library was alwasy very peaceful in the evening after dinner. The candlelight flickered gently along the old walls, and it was silent except for the scratching of quills or flipping of pages. Jamie found comfort in the serene environment. She figured she might even find some company tonight, as it seemed the whole of the upperclassmen were doing some kind of homework.

When she had finally reached the library, she headed toward the west wall. Her favorite place in the library was a soft, old green couch that was situated under the west-looking window. From the right angle, you could see the Quidditch or the sunset form teh couch, although it was pretty much blocked form sight form the rest of the library. Jamie headed immediately to her spot.

When she got there, though, someone was already occupying her couch.

She cleared her throat impatiently and waited for a response from the "chair stealer."

Aly and Lisa and anyone else [24 Oct 2004|06:02pm]

[ mood | hungry ]

Ten minutes after the 'crazy library incident', Jamie walked into teh Great Hall accompanied by Aly and Lisa. She took a seat towards the middle of the Ravenclaw table, and conversation ensued...

For Melinda and I, although I suppose anyone else could come too... [21 Oct 2004|01:20am]

Rantoul stood outside, holding his broom in one hand and shading his eyes with the other. Though he generally seemed unflappable, today he was quite nervous. After all, it wasn't often that he got to practice with the Beater of the Gryffindor Quidditch team.

Sports were not Rantoul's forte. Although he could catch and fly fairly well, sometimes putting them together was difficult for him. He drummed his fingers along the stick of his decidedly retro Moontrimmer (a new model with an old-school look) and sighed, watching his breath float into the air.

Open RPG [21 Oct 2004|10:16am]

Aly was hidden away in the library, sorrounded by about ten various books. Looking around, she realized she was still missing one that she was going to need. Carefully stacking a few books on a chair, she reached up for the eleventh book. And of course she wound up toppoling over.

"Why me?!"

OPEN RP [18 Oct 2004|11:13am]

Estella was working with a picture and a spellotape. She was pasting together a picture of a red-headed girl with a pretty face and intelligent eyes. The edges were ripped roughly and the librairy was empty except for her, alone in a corner. She got frustrated with the picture and tore it up again, carefully placing the pieces in the waste basket, only to gently pick them up again and start over. Her black hair fell in front of her face. She had not slept. She had lots of black makeup, eyeliner, shadow, everything. Her lips were a deep blood. She finally finished the picture, placed it carefully in a book, and got up to leave, halfway to the door, Estella bumped into someone. She screamed and fainted, and the book skid across the floor, out of sight.

Open RP [10 Oct 2004|11:06am]

Mel exited the Gryffindor dorm and headed towards the Library. On her way she passed by Filtch's office and, not looking, she tripped over his list of banned items and fell head first to the floor. There was a loud slamming noise as the ground came up to meet her and her chin hit the ground. After a stream of curse words, she finally righted herself and glanced around. She had managed to rip off the last twenty items of the list. Noticing no one was around, she quickly shoved it under his office door with her shoes and limped her way towards the Library. It was pretty early in the morning but Mel has always been a morning person. Besides, aside from Madame Pince and a few Ravenclaws, no one was ever in here this early. Well, usually anyway...
